Why Plantation Shutters? Plantation shutters offer an elegant and efficient alternative to drapes, blinds or shades. They allow excellent control of the amount of sunlight (and heat) you allow into a room as well as offering superb privacy when needed. Because they are available in a variety of finishes, they can be incorporated into most any decor. Plantation shutters are the only window treatment that adds value to your home in addition to the great insulating value. The shutters are hinged to allow access to the window and the hinges are mortised. The outside mount is our standard frame, it is mounted directly onto the wall around the window and protrudes into the room about 2½ inches. The inside mount is used when the customer doesn't want the shutter protruding into the room and is mounted inside the window jamb. The Z frame is a flush mount with a 2 inch trim piece attached and is mounted inside to the front of the window jamb flush with the wall |
